At the completion of this activity, the learner will be able to: 1) Describe the current landscape of healthcare in Texas; 2) Identify challenges for nurses and nursing in Texas related to safe patient care, nursing education, and staffing; 3) Explore the status of the nursing shortage in Texas and proposed actions to address it; and 4) Discuss potential dynamic changes in healthcare and their possible impact on nurses and nursing in Texas.
1.0 Contact Hours will be awarded to participants
who attend the entire presentation. The Texas Nurses Association/Foundation
Provider Unit is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing
education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission
of Accreditation.
Meeting
space, refreshments, and complimentary parking provided by Texas
Health Resources. Texas Health Resources is on the North side of
IH30, between Collins and Cooper Street exits. Either exit will
work. You can see the Texas Health Resources Tower from IH30. Go
to Lamar (left from Collins or right from Cooper).
Turn on Ryan Plaza from Lamar. Park on the East side of the Tower.
Proceed to the 7th floor of the East Tower.
